Brothers Alumni
This is where you can view some of the great people that have given this organization enormous amounts of time and effort both during their time at Colgate and after they've graduated. The purpose of this section is to get to know some of these people and get a sense of the type of leaders that Brothers has attracted over the past ten years. When Brothers was founded one of the intentions was to help students create a social network that would transcend the confines of Hamilton, NY, so feel free to e-mail these exceptional people for advice on anything you may wish to ask.

"My years at Colgate and in Brothers have been formative and have taught me much about what matters in my life, and what I have discovered is that true brotherhood stems from humility. It took me years to figure that out, and, to be honest, I’ve only come to that realization after I graduated from Colgate. The road I had walked on to arrive at that point was turbulent, but one constant that stood out for me in all my years as an undergrad was Brothers: the camaraderie and fellowship that I’ve enjoyed being in a room with men I was proud to call my brethren. I learned very quickly that, in the words of our founders, the worst thing to be told is that you have potential. Like my predecessors, I put it to use. I sought out to build bridges as best as I could, given the circumstances to help make it easier to traverse the gap that existed—and still exists—between the majority voice at Colgate and that of the minority."

Hometown: Yonkers, NY
Major(s): Architecture, Art & Art History
Graduating Class Year: 2008
Intended Career Path: Architecture, Working for a Historic Development Firm, Law Enforcement
Currently: Working for a judge in the Lower East Side of Manhattan.
"For all that do not know me; my name is Terrence Dilworth from Yonkers, NY. I graduated from Colgate University in 2008. During my time there, I majored in Art and Art History with a concentration in Architecture. It’s a very time consuming subject but if you love being creative and not writing papers all the time then this is a great subject to get into. Other than my academics, I ran for the Colgate Track and Field team, was part of many groups involved with Dancefest, did some intramurals, and made it into the Konosioni Honor Society. I guess you can say I was pretty active. On another note, I have really random interest. I enjoy drawing, anime (Naruto & Bleach), sports, the Xbox 360 (Gamertag: SolidSnake400 J), and Christian Rap, which is something I just started getting into. At the current moment, I am working for a judge in the lower east side of Manhattan. For me, the intended career field varies. I would enjoy doing many different things like working for an architecture or historic preservation firm and/or being a firefighter, police officer or something else in law enforcement. Here’s a little f.y.i about me: my favorite movie is Sweeney Todd, favorite music artist is TP (God’s blessed him with great talent…learn from him), favorite architectural structure is Fallingwater by Frank Lloyd Wright, and favorite book is "Jesus: A Story of Enlightenment" by Deepak Chopra. On a more serious note, if any of ya’ll ever need help with anything, especially architecture, or just want to talk, hit me up. My email is [email protected] and my number is 914-733-2410. I’ll be glad to help.

Max Weiss
Hometown: New York City
Major: Political Science
Class Year: 2011
Max Weiss is a senior at Colgate, majoring in political science. He is addicted to coffee, sports and everything political. A glutton for punishment, he is a die-hard-fan of the New York Knicks, Mets, is Jewish, and is the President of Colgate College Democrats. In 2008, he worked on the Obama campaign in Philadelphia and since then he has worked on local races in Hamilton focusing on voter outreach and campaign coordination. He has been elected 4 times to represent the Class of 2011 in Student Government, but lost his election for President in dramatic fashion. He took a summer course in French, but speaks it pretty poorly. His short term goal is to gain employment and long term goal is to run for public office. If there's something political on campus, Max is probably there, overdressed, so feel free to say hello. And most importantly, if you want to get on his good side, get him a slice of pizza. Preferably with blue cheese.

“Colgate’s environment challenged me in many ways; looking back, I would not have chosen another university. Whether I was putting in extra work academically in an effort to keep up with everyone else; fighting/discussing social injustices with fellow peers; or going the extra mile to work constructively with anyone in any setting, in the midst of it all, unconsciously Colgate was molding me to be a leader in the greater community. It wasn’t until I found myself away from the Colgate community that I realized how distinguished my experiences had made me from my peers outside of Colgate. For current and future Brothers, welcome the experiences you will face, the good, the bad, and the ugly; in the end, when it is all said and done, you will realize it was all worth it.”

"Hey everyone. I'm Naya. I'm from Eldoret, Kenya, born and raised there but went to high school in Nairobi. I came to the States after high school for a study abroad program in Cleveland, OH for a year from where I applied to Colgate. I play soccer and too much volleyball. I joined Brothers because right from the first meeting, I fell in love with the brotherhood, and knew at once that that was going to be a place for me to feel comfortable in my quest to immerse myself in the very complex American culture. I have made many friends since then and looking forward to making more."
